President Isaias Afwerki and President Vladimir Putin held extensive talks in the Kremlin

President Isaias Afwerki and President Vladimir Putin held extensive talks in the Kremlin in mid-afternoon hours today on enhancement of bilateral ties as well as on international issues and developments of mutual importance.

Pre. Putin underlined that Pre. Isaias’ 1st official visit to Russian Federation will contribute highly to development of bilateral ties. He further noted that visit was occuring at auspicious time of Eritrea’s 32nd Independence Anniversary & 30 years of bilateral diplomatic ties President Putin expressed full satisfaction at the progress and development of the bilateral ties between the two countries and extended an invitation to President Isaias to participate in the Second Russia-Africa Summit that the Russian Federation will host in July this year.

Pre. Isaias noted that unipolar world order has engendered spiral of crises & destruction. He urged Russia to play its appropriate role with peace/justice loving peoples to ascertain transition to civlized international order;which was not an option but historical responsibility
