Eid al-Adha celebrations : Asmara’s Bahti Meskerem Square

Eid al-Adha celebrations held at Asmara’s Bahti Meskerem Square this morning in the presence of senior Government and PFDJ officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and the faithful. Keynote address and blessings delivered by Eritrea’s Mufti, Sheikh Salim Ibrahim Al-Mukhtar, focussing on the religious significance of Eid al-Adha; the core values of social empathy & compassion that it enunciates; and, the precious sacrifices that the Eritrean people have paid to ascertain their national independence, human dignity, and for peace that they deeply cherish as they know the tribulations of war and conflict.
