The 15th YPFDJ –Europe Conference in London under the theme “Nation Building in the Era of Peace and Development”.

The 15th YPFDJ –Europe Conference convened today, 19 April in London under the theme “Nation Building in the Era of Peace and Development”. The Conference was officially opened by Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Head of PFDJ Political Affairs.

The four day conference is being attended by Eritrean Ambassadors and diplomats as well as about 700 youth representatives from Europe and America.

Indicating that the prevailing peace is the result of strong resilience of the Eritrean people and its leadership, Ms. Rahel Seyum, Chairperson of the YPFDJ-Europe, called for transferring the noble values to generations.

Pointing out that the conference is being held at the time in which the Eritrean people emerged victorious against external conspiracies targeting the Eritrean sovereignty, Mr. Estifanos Habtemariam, Eritrean Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland,  called for strengthening organizational capacity and contribution in the national development drives.

The Chairman of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students, Mr. Saleh Ahmedin on his part called for active participation of the youth in the nation building process.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Yemane Gebreab, indicating that the conspiracies to reverse the independence and sovereignty of Eritrea have been foiled for the second time, underlined that the era of peace demands for channeling all resources for the development of the country.

The Chairperson of the National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Europe, Ms. Negisti Tsegai and Ms.  Ruby Sandhu, friend of Eritrea, delivered messages of solidarity.
